ABOUT ROBERT KITTO - WATERCOLOURS

Robert Kitto

A former Information Analyst, Robert Kitto has many years experience as a watercolourist. Having exhibited several times during the 1980's and in Northumberland. He relocated to Devon in 1990, where he has been since.

His particular interest in art, is in traditional English watercolours and his own work, which is mainly of landscapes and townscapes follows that tradition. Devon and Cornwall, as did Northumberland beforehand, provide almost limitless inspiration. The working method likewise follows the traditional approach of sketching and colouring out of doors, followed by more thoughtful work under cover. As to be expected, many an outdoor sketch has been ravaged by the changeable English weather.
